We Will Miss You Ms Sugarbaker

Dixie Carter a Steel Magnolia, and a Memphis Belle lost her battle to endometrial cancer on Saturday.

As a former actress, I know that sometimes you play a role with such heart and dedication, that you become that role. This was the case for Dixie, she will forever be our Julia Sugarbaker. Long before 4 friends in the city of New York stole our hearts, and fueled our shopping addictions, there were the four women of Designing Women. I have often been asked if I was one SATC girl which would I be, to answer 1/2 Samantha, 1/4 Miranda, and 1/4 Carrie. If I had to answer the same question for Designing Women characters, I would say 100% Julia.

No one could tell it like it was, better than Julia, and as a girl in my prime, she was my heroine.

Dixie Carter was married to Hal Holbrook (also her boyfriend on Designing Women). She is survived by two daughters.

Notice I didn't say her age anywhere here. True Southern Belles don't allow that when they pass, and I am respecting her in that matter.

I'm gonna pay tribute to our Ms. Sugarbaker, with some of the best of her best throughout the day. But here's one I'll never forget.
