Guess What I'm Doing

Yes,it's true, I have broken down and started to Twitter. I can see where this is going to be a lot of fun for The Captain and I, as somehow I feel like I can be a bit more candid over there. I can't fathom why I feel that way. Maybe it's because I have been reading your twitters all weekend. I'm feeling a little lonely over there with just 2 followers. Here's my button ya'll, and guess what I made it myself, that's me in the front, and the rest of you swinging behind me! It's on my sidebar and works over there too!

So to encourage you to follow me over at Twitter, I will up the ante a bit. If you follow me on twitter, I will give you an extra entry in the Southern Belle T-shirt giveaway.
Not that The Bumpkin is really a rule kinda girl, but I'm implementing a new rule in all future giveaways if your'e not a follower here at the swing, or on The Twitter Swing, you don't qualify to win.
A little explanation:
If I'm going to spend my hard earned cash to send somebody something. I'm sending my treasures to someone I am sure loves me. Captain John and I plan to pick up treats from all sorts of places that we frequent every now and then, and give them away. So that all of you have something to remember us by. Trust me, now that I have him involved in the Giveaway thing, you're in good hands, he has great taste! Mementos from Margaritaville, Lulu's, Hard Rock Biloxi, and the such are in the plans. We may even do a few man friendly things for the guys in your life.
I don't want anyone to follow me because I'm giving a treat away, even though it will still happen, if you don't like me, then don't follow me. It's okay with me, my followers love me, and we interact enough to fill my pockets full of sunshine.
Now if ya'll twitter, please leave me a comment with your id. BET I CAN MAKE YOU LAUGH!

Now on a sad note:

Layla Grace is in the process of losing her battle against Neuroblastoma. She has been in much pain this weekend. So please whatever it is you do, pray, light a candle, send positive thoughts, make Buddha a sweet treat, dance naked in the rain at sunrise, whatever it is you do, please do it today for this little girl.
If you don't know Layla, and would like to read more about her, her website is www.laylagrace.org I will say it again, this is a very sad time for all of us who follow her, but here's the hope of her Mother. Awareness! This disease can be detected in babies with a simple urine test, instead of waiting for it to progress enough to feel a lump, usually in the abdomen. Why is this not mandatory? I am appalled.
Love,
The Bumpkin

Twitter? Really? Well you go girl! I have thought about Twitting once or twice but then I figured no one would really care what I was up to! Anyways, I already have too many email, myspace, facebook, website, blog accounts that I can't even keep those up to date! Keep us posted and let us know how it goes. Your stories might actually convince me to give it a try ;-)

I am on Twitter but fail to update outside of blog posts very often. I will be curious what you think of it after a few months.

I went to Layla's link...tissue alert. The post from her Dad made me cry which I will have a hard time explaining as I wait for a meeting to start. Prayers and positive thoughts to her family......

I'm heading over to Twitter as soon as I finish typing this so I can follow me.

Praying for Layla- neuroblastoma is such a scary thing. I personally know 2 children who have it, and it is just heartbreaking!
