Current Fashion Obsession

Captain John and I had a great weekend. Hope is floating right up on us. I took a much needed blog break, but I'm coming to get caught up, right now. See you in a few. How was your weekend? It was hotter than the day Sherman burned Atlanta in South Mississippi this weekend, and with today being the start of summer, I just have to get one of these.
I just love this image, and I have become obsessed with floppy hats because of it. I am stalking the perfect one. For once, I am glad to have long super curly hair. Great look for this hat

This is the one I want, everybody keep your eyes peeled for it please. Great click, great click, someone just out of the frame is dropping the hat straight down, and the photographer caught it at a perfect time.

I really like this one, not floppy enough though.

Prairie Style?

Hamptons Style?

Some notorious floppy hat images, you will recognize the next 3.

Love the crocheted camisole, the lace parasol, and oh yeah, the straw hat's not bad either.

Rugged, but chic, do you agree?

Love the canvas style one's for the boat, the beach, and other fun in the sun.

I want a big bow on mine too! I am going all the way.

Floppy hats first made their appearances in the 1930's.

So adorable on the baby girls, so adorable.

Kudos to the makeup artist at this shoot.

I jus' have to say, she's rocking My Mamma's lipstick. She never went anywhere without it. I call this Ole' Lady Pink, that flat finish makes it even worse. I remember as a little girl, I would sneak some on, then it would stain my lips and face, and I would be busted every time.

Which style is your favorite? Do tell readers, do tell.
Love,
The Bumpkin

Adore. I bought this fabulous floppy hat just before the hubs and I went away for our wedding. The first day I wore it out, the tide came up and washed over it and pretty much destroyed it. So now I have to get another one, but you have given me some good ideas here!

If I could fashion one between the Prairie and Hampton's style that would be my choice.
They are ultra cool and oh so feminine-as I told you once before I do enjoy your taste!
Also, love the new header-so warm and fairy-like, adorable!

I think the Hamptons style is my favorite! I love all these hats. It's funny you should blog about this because I've been keeping a lookout for a floppy straw hat. I need one! It would complete so many summer outfits.

The hamptons one is my favorite, and a floppy hat is a must for every southern girl... we've got to protect our delicate skin from all this heat!

And the reference to Sherman... classic... and makes my blood boil.... hahaha.... loyalty runs long and deep in the south!

I SO want a floppy hat but I can't find one that looks good on me! Hats are difficult for me for some reason.. only baseball hats look good on my noggin. Frustrating!

Beautiful post, Bumpkin! I just love floppy hats. They are perfect for keeping the sun out of your face while remaining stylish. I wear these most often with bathing suits.

I love the picture of Marylin.

Morgan and I must be related because dear, I LOVE every single one of these hats but on someone else! They look terrible on me! And I've tried, I really have. It try different hats on all the time but I still look ridiculously silly. Only baseball caps come close to this head! Welcome back Dear! I hope your weekend was exactly how you wanted it to be!!

i have a black one similar to the lady in the last photo. i feel 'sophisticated' when i wear it, but some days i wish it was a lighter color. black and the hot sun don't mix real well. haha :)

No favorite, but I do wish my wife wore more hats. Not that her hair is anything but stunning. I just like hats. Now I hope she doesn't read this comment. I always dig myself in these holes.

I think all those hats are so fancy, specially the hamptons style because it is white and has great texture to it. But that lit girl looks just too cute...
