What $9, 500 Will Get You!

Today a Ford Focus won the Indy 500!

Today was my 35th Kentucky Derby viewing.

I have never seen a horse in the Derby that cost the owner less than $60,000.
Mine That Bird rode to the Derby in a plain horse trailor pulled by a modest pickup.

A underdog to say the least at 50-1 odds!

He smoked em....to quote the jockey, "Katy bar the door!"
He will stud for no less than a million now.

No Triple Crown this year, the owner doesn't want to risk injuring the horse in the Preakness or Belmont!

Just goes to show ya,

It doesn't matter where you came from, it only matters where you are going!

Love,
The Bumpkin

I still can't believe he won!! And I loved the jockey - he made me tear up he was so excited!
(I picked Pioneer of the Nile - so close!)
It's kind of sad we won't have a Triple Crown again. Do you think we'll ever have another one?

I was thrilled...Calvin rode my Dad's horses for 20 years....My Dad died 2 years ago.......He would have been so proud of him.

What a race....

I enjoyed reading your blog today. I am still new to the land of blog, but so loving reading others stories. Everyone has a story and so many of them are so touching....
Hope you will stop by for a visit.
The May give-away has started and this month there will be 10 winners. I will be blogging from Disney World soon...

That would be like a 1998 ford focus, too...eh?

Fast little guy won't be standing for stud though...
